Seven health systems reported modest gains in older-adult vaccination

What the research found
EurekAlert carried an American Geriatrics Society release on 28 October 2026 for a Journal of the American Geriatrics Society paper (DOI 10.1111/jgs.70770). Seven health systems in the Older Adults Vaccine Initiative reported modest gains in influenza and COVID-19 vaccination while national rates were falling. The release describes layered, locally tailored strategies. It does not give the size of the change, and it does not split the result by sex. This is a health-system report, not a personal vaccine schedule. A vaccine decision stays with a clinician. Not medical advice.
Evidence level: Human study. A study in people, but an association isn't proof of cause.
