A scan model flagged pancreatic cancer patterns hundreds of days early

What the research found
ScienceDaily on 26 October 2026 described a journal paper on a model called REDMOD. In CT scans from 219 people who later developed pancreatic cancer, and 1,243 people who did not, the model flagged patterns an average of 475 days before diagnosis. Sensitivity was 73 percent versus 39 percent for radiologists in this comparison. Cases averaged age 69, with ages from 34 to 88. The authors say it still needs prospective tests before routine use. Not medical advice.
Evidence level: Human study. A study in people, but an association isn't proof of cause.
