Menopause is missing from most electronic health records, study finds
Source: EurekAlert
What the research found
Study (records). University of Colorado Anschutz researchers report in Menopause that among nearly 396,000 women in NIH All of Us, menopause appeared in EHRs for only about 7% of the dataset and 14% of women who reported menopause on survey — roughly 28,000 EHR diagnoses versus about 193,000 survey observations. Age at menopause was often missing. This is a documentation gap, not a treatment trial. Educational women’s-health notes, not medical advice.
Evidence level: Human study. A study in people, but an association isn't proof of cause.
